Uttaranchal, the newly formed state is a part of the Himalayan ranges starting from the Shivalik foothills to Greater Himalayas with Tibet as its northeastern neighbour. Jim Corbett National Park :
The Corbett National Park is located at the foothills of the majestic Himalayas in the state of Uttranchal in India. The Corbett National Park inhabits a wide variety of flora and fauna. Corbett is world renown for its wild population of Tigers, Leopards and Elephants. Corbett has nearly 600 bird species officially recorded in it's log books.
 

Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park in the state of Uttranchal is situated along the hills and foothills of Shivalik ranges in the Himalayan foothills and exhibits the Shivalik ecosystem. Rajaji is one of northern India's major wildlife reserves - and one of the best places to see the fauna and flora of the terai region. The animals you will come across are - tigers, leopards, elephants, deer, jungle cat, wild boar and sloth bear. The most prominent avian species include pea fowl, woodpeckers, pheasants, kingfishers and barbets, supplemented by a number of migratory species during the winter months.
 
Nanda Devi National Park
The Nanda Devi National Park is one of the most spectacular wilderness areas in the Himalayas. The Fauna section of the park will present animals like bharal, Himalayan tahr, serow, goral, snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, brown bear, leopard, common langur, Himalayan musk deer, and brown beer dominate the park area. There are nearly 80 species of birds in this area. Warblers, gresbreaks, rose finches and ruby throat are commonly seen here.
 
Govind National Park
The Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttararanchal. The area is home for a lot of endangered animals and its large area along with the contiguous forests of the neighbouring forest divisions helps in maintaining genetic diversity. The area is very rich in medicinal plants, many of which form the basis for certain life saving drugs. The scenic beauty of the area is unmatched.
 
Gangotri National Park
The park is situated in Uttarkashi District provides majestic beauty of coniferous forests and grandeur of glacial world combined with lush green meadows. The forests of the park are Himalayan moist temperate type. Vegetation consist of chirpine deodar, fir, spruce, oak and rhododendrons. The fauna seen heres are tiger, snow leopard, ibex, thar, serow, pheasants, partridges, doves, pigeons, parakeet, Himalayan barbet, bulbul etc.

The terrain is rugged, so you might face problem in transportation. Sometimes some routes are closed due to landslides and heavy snowfall. There are numerous major cities which offer best facilities and services to its visitors. Again, you might face problems while communicating to the locales, as English is the learned man's language. If you need your choice of food then you have to book with the luxurious hotels and accommodation facilities. You might not find a luxurious facility in the remote areas of Uttaranchal.

Visit by Road Regular bus services connect Delhi and other major cities in North India with Dehradun. Sometimes some routes are closed due to landslides and heavy snowfall.
