Day 3 - Toronto / Niagara Falls / Toronto/ Jasper (3 nights aboard 'The Canadian')
We leave early this morning to make our way to Niagara Falls. After taking in the incredible majesty of the falls we will head to the IMAX centre for a presentation on this famous landmark. An optional helicopter flight seeing tour over the falls will be available, weather permitting. In the afternoon you are free to explore Niagara and may wish to try your luck in the casino’s, shop for souvenirs or even visit Journey behind the Falls for an even closer view of the thundering falls. We return to Toronto this evening and transfer to Union station to join ‘The Canadian’. This is the country’s premier train and your carriage and hotel for this transcontinental journey. Elegant dining and excellent service are standard on this famous iron horse of VIA Rail. Magical vistas make a marvellous moving picture as you cross Canada from the lakes, through the plains and prairies, and into the Rockies. When night falls, snowy scenes shimmer in moonlight and a comfortable Silver & Blue class cabin awaits you, helping you resist the temptation to watch for too long and ensuring you wake refreshed in the morning. The “Canadian” Train is scheduled to leave at 22:00.
Hotel: The Canadian

Note: No dinner is available this evening on the train. While on the train, your main luggage will be inaccessible. You will need a small overnight bag for use during your rail journey. Any bags weighing over 50 lbs will not receive free porterage from Via Rail.

Day 4 – 5 Aboard The Canadian
Thundering across the ever-changing landscape, the Canadian, after leaving the glass towers and concrete skyscrapers of Toronto makes its way through the lakes and forests of northern Ontario, across Canada’s endless rolling prairies. There are various brief stops along the way, with one of the highlights being Winnipeg where you may be able to stretch your legs in the fresh prairie air.

Days 6,7,8 & 9 – Jasper
On arrival in Jasper, we have arranged for your luggage to be taken from the train and transported to your hotel. This will give you the chance to stroll the short and flat distance to your hotel accompanied by your Tour Director. The remainder of the day is at leisure. You will have three full days to enjoy the pristine wilderness of Jasper National Park and we have included a visit to Maligne Canyon, a deep gorge which in summer is filled with a torrent of water, but in winter freezes to form some spectacular icefalls. There are also several optional activities for you to try: heli snowshoeing, a skidoo ride, cross-country skiing, a day trip to Banff and Lake Louise.
Hotel: Chateau Jasper
